In my Games and Learning course, we explored the use of games for learning across formal and informal environments. Not only did I get to participate in my game and metagame experience of choice, which was Code Combat, I realized that a well designed affinity space could catapult one’s learning from novice to expert. We also used to “write” in the online margins. This technology made it incredibly easy to offer and receive peer feedback for my game critiques, assigned readings, and final paper, Obliteration to Cooperation: A (g)aming Journey.
